Join us for reflection and facilitated discussion. We are trialling breakfast sessions to enable people to attend at the start of their work day. This session will  be held 08:00 - 08:50.

It doesn't matter if you have not attended yet, if you have only attended one session, or many - all members of the PPA and APCP are very welcome. Many members have valued this space:

"I thought it was great to have a support network in which you could discuss case studies to assist with the future management of patients... I would highly recommend the peer support sessions for new graduates wanting help to manage complex pain patients." Newly qualified Rotational Physiotherapist

"A really valuable hour spent with folk connecting with shared values .. providing the best care we can." Pain Specialist Physiotherapist

The session offers an opportunity to explore challenging aspects of supporting people experiencing complex pain.

These sessions are open to members of the Physiotherapy Pain Association or the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists in all specialties and areas of practice.

Participants are invited to bring along a case or aspect of practice that they would be willing to discuss with a small group. It would be helpful if cases could be summarised into a line or two that could be shared in the chat box. After introductions, the group will choose which case to discuss collectively.

The case or topic is described by the presenter for 5 minutes. Clarifying questions are asked for 10 minutes and then the presenter turns off their camera and the rest of the group reflect and respond to the challenging situation for 15-20 minutes. There are then 5 minutes at the end for the presenter to share their reflections.

These sessions will be an opportunity for clinicians at all stages of their career to reflect and develop their practice through open conversations and facilitated discussion.

We are lucky to have so many experienced facilitators, including support from PPA Patient Representatives. You can find out more about all the facilitators here.

A reflective model will be used for case discussion (Launer, 2016).

Members from all specialities are welcome. The PPA is committed to support Chartered Physiotherapists and other clinicians to effectively support patients with the treatment and management of complex pain.

Join for £20 per year for fully qualified members. Discounted membership for students and associate members.
