- Do you live with persistent pain, or are you a carer for someone with persistent pain?
- Are you interested in how physiotherapists can support those living with pain?
- Would you like to help make a difference in moving the care of people living with pain forwards?
If you answered YES to these questions then please consider joining PIPPA!
The PPA was established in 1994 for Chartered Physiotherapists and was recognised as a Clinical Interest Group for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) in 1996. The PPA is led by a lively and forward-looking Executive Committee comprised of both physiotherapists and patients. They are working earnestly to improve the care of people living with pain.
PIPPA is a new group, launched in November 2020. There will be an opportunity for members to join a Zoom call once every six weeks to chat with other PIPPA members and also some of the Executive Committee of the PPA. You will get occasional email requests for your thoughts on particular topics, which you will be free to respond to or not as you wish. For example, the PPA have recently given a formal response to the Draft NICE Guidelines on the assessment and management of chronic pain.
Joining PIPPA is easy – all you need to do is subscribe here. You don’t have to be currently accessing medical care, you just need to have experience (past or current) as either a patient with persistent pain or carer.
So – if you are excited about supporting the work of the PPA in order to support those living with persistent pain, then please do join us.
We look forward to working with you.
