The PPA North is delighted to present this afternoon workshop to develop understanding of common issues that arise with pelvic pain, and pelvic health issues that can develop along side a persistent pain condition. There will be three sessions:
"Pelvic pain - a personal perspective"
Ruth Barber is a yoga and mindfulness teacher who also has persistent pain. Ruth will share her experiences with pelvic pain and how she manages the issues that arise.
"Demystifying the female pelvic floor"
Alison Hennessey is the physiotherapist in the EXPPECT Service, the Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Team in the University of Edinburgh. Alison is a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist who works in NHS Lothian as an APP in Pelvic Floor and Continence Service and in the NHS Borders Bladder and Bowel Service.
"Trauma and pelvic pain"
Fiona McAslan is an APP in Pain Management in NHS Fife. She has an interest in pelvic pain. Fiona has collaborated extensively with the pelvic health physiotherapists in Fife on patient care and staff training.
